Vocabulary and Comprehension Anchor Sharts give students a visual framework to conceptualize the necessary thought processes to answer comprehension questions and help them organize their vocabulary definitions. Hang them on your walls or put them in binders to support students’ vocabulary and comprehension growth!
Anchor charts are one of our favorite resources to include in our literacy instruction! These visual frameworks help students conceptualize the necessary thought processes to answer comprehension questions and help them organize their vocabulary definitions. Hang them on your walls or put them in binders to support students’ vocabulary and comprehension growth!
How we use them:
We start by explicitly teaching students how to use one of the anchor charts. As they are introduced, we’ll hang them on the wall. Then, as students work on vocabulary or comprehension questions they can look up and use the anchor charts as a visual reference. This is an easy way to incorporate the visual component of multisensory instruction!
Grade Level Target:
K-6+
What’s Included:
4 Vocabulary Anchor Charts so that students have a clear framework to use when defining words (which supports long-term retention – not just memorization).
9 Comprehension Anchor Charts to support all levels of processing and the full continuum of comprehension questions.
All charts are 2-sided to make differentiation easy and make the most out of your wall space.
Note – While laminated, it is recommended that you avoid writing on the charts with dry-erase markers (or any other writing instruments) to prolong the longevity of these visual anchors.
