When developing Halcyon Marine Varnish, an exterior marine varnish, TotalBoat threw away the rule book. They wanted a UV protective finish durable enough for outdoor use on boats, but also hard enough to use on interior surfaces. They also wanted a boat finish that didn't require days of work to build adequate layers, so they shortened the recoat time and eliminated the need to sand between coats, making it possible to do up to five coats (one per hour) within the first 12 hours.
